Bivouac in Monte Perdido. Pyrenees

Enjoy two days of hill walking at the spectacular Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park located at the heart of the Pyrenees.Our goal is to climb Monte Perdido in two days from Ordesa Valley spending the night bivouacking near the summit, a great location to contemplate one of the best sunrises in the Pyrenees.PROGRAMMEDay 1. Nerín-Monte Perdido We will meet at 6.40h in the village of Nerín, where we will take the bus to get the starting point. Around 7.30h the bus will leave us in the viewpoints of Vacarizuela and Ciarracils. We will ascent some meters to enjoy the amazing views over the Ordesa Valley. A real pleasure for the senses. To get to Cuello Gordo we will descend bordering Sierra Custodia to reach Góriz Hut. We could take a break and buy some drinks. The itinerary ascent now through the terraces of the Góriz Canyon. It is a walk among the pastures that will become a karst landscape, so we are ascending one of the biggest karst mountains in Europe. Almost reaching the 3.000 m, we will find the Ibón helado (frozen lake), one of the highest in the Pyrenees and which underground waters result in one of the biggest waterfalls in Europe, Gavarnie’s waterfall.The last 350m correspond to the stony area previous to the summit, where we will cross part of the Escupidera, with no technical difficulties without snow or ice.On the Summit we will find wide bivouacs where we could roll out the mats and start enjoying the unbelievable 360º landscape. We will have dinner waiting for the deep night to see a new spectacle. Distance: 10,7 km. Elevation gain +1.383m. - 222. Time: 7h 30min.Day 2. Monte Perdido- NerínWe will enjoy the sunrise from our sleeping-bags. When the sun starts warming us we will have breakfast and clean up the bivouac to start the return, following the same way that we did the day before to reach the summit. Distance: 10,7 km.
