Snowshoeing in Candanchú

We will start on the French border at Somport (1.631 meters) and, after getting equipped, we will go up heading to the crests of the Candanchú Mountain, going through areas with snowed slopes, plains and cols. The maximum height reached will be 1.730 meters but we will gain cumulative height differences due to the ascents and descents. We will avoid going through the Nature Protected Area not to disturb the species living there during the winter. Cumulative height gain and loss: +200 meters / -200 meters.Specifications: The excursion goes up to the Candanchú Mountain crests and descends afterwards to the Puerto Viejo col and the area of La Rinconada, la ciudad de Piedra and the Causiat col (1.634 meters). Different routes can be chosen depending on the group’s level.On the way back, we will follow a similar route but changing the chosen areas not to repeat exactly the same route.No technical difficulties beyond walking with snowshoes are encountered during this excursion.
