Inland Spain has so many unique experiences to offer that are perfect for couples. Villages with rich histories, magnificent natural spaces and fairy-tale places that’ll get you dreaming, perfect for enjoying with your favourite person. We’re going to tell you about some of the most romantic inland spots, so start packing that case!

    As well as the famous Hanging Houses of Cuenca, the gravity-defying houses built on a clifftop that are one of the city of Cuenca’s best known attractions, here you can discover another city: the enchanted one. A geological site that’s over 90 million years old located in the Serranía de Cuenca Natural Park. It’s a great place for taking a pleasant stroll among rocks that erosion has sculpted into seemingly impossible shapes and letting your imagination fly.

    A lovely village, perfect for losing yourself with your partner, enjoying the peace and tranquillity while you uncover its secrets, such as the Roman bridge, a magical place where you’ll fall in love with the burble of the Sella river, and the streets of the village you can stroll around and discover some wonderful buildings, like the Pintu palace for example. And if you're an adventure seeker, then all you need to do is go up to the Covadonga lakes in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. Here you’ll find a magnificent natural landscape where the mass of different shades of green is only broken up by the huge bodies of water.

    Ronda is one of the most romantic towns in the whole of Spain, and you'll see why as you soak up the atmosphere while you stroll through its ancient streets or take a break in one of its many hidden corners. A place to fall in love with. And you absolutely must stop by the Puente Nuevo viewpoint, from where you can fully appreciate the incredible beauty of this feat of engineering. Cross over the bridge and take in some stunning views that have a real touch of magic in them, especially when lit up by the last rays of the sun.

    This is a valley of incredible natural beauty, and here too you can visit picturesque villages where you'll find pretty little places to stay, perfect for enjoying the peace and quiet and spending time with your partner. If you come with your partner, the best time has to be in the spring when the natural world puts on a spectacular show. This is when over a million cherry trees in flower cover the mountainsides with a carpet of white blossom, creating an unforgettable landscape for a romantic walk.

    The lovers of Teruel, Aragón

    When Spanish people think of Teruel their thoughts often turn to love, as the city is the source of the legend of the lovers of Teruel. Isabel de Segura and Juan Martínez de Marcilla lived an impossible love, and died because they couldn’t be together. Today you can visit their mausoleum in the church of San Pedro, where you’ll find a statue of the young lovers - their hands are outstretched, but they can never touch. Teruel also has various monuments that have made it a World Heritage Site thanks to its Mudejar architecture, so you’ll have a great time as you wander through its streets.
