These are the remains of the ancient Roman city walls
Several sections and three towers of the old Roman walls are preserved.
The city's Roman walls are known as the Paseo Arqueológico (Archaeological Walk). They were built between the end of the 3rd century and the beginning of the 2nd century BC. Only the upper part of the old construction still stands. It consists of several sections of wall and three towers: the towers of Cabiscol, Minerva and the Archbishop. The Tower of Minerva is the most traditionally Roman, while that of the Archbishop underwent modifications during the medieval period. The walls are part of the monumental ensemble of Tarraco, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
