Montaña de la Sal Cultural Park
A site of great geological value
This site opened in the year 2003 and has an area of 100 hectares. It is situated in Cardona Saline Valley, which used to be known as El Salí. The Mountain of Salt is highly valuable as it contains many different minerals.
For years, Montaña de Sal Cultural Park was one of the world's most important potassium salt mines, situated in the area of the Nieves Mine in Cardona. This tourist area shows how important this element is, and visitors can discover the site's particular geology and how it has been used over the years.
