Balneario de Archena (Murcia)

A spa resort with a long history - the Romans were already enjoying these thermal waters more than 1,500 years ago. A paradise in the Ricote Valley, right by the Segura River. At a temperature of just over 52º, the waters stimulate the circulation and may help to strengthen the immune system. It’s an ideal destination for the smallest members of the family too, as entrance is free for children up to the age of 12. The mini-club offers lots of activities for them, and there’s also a children’s pool with a made-to-measure slide so that they can have fun while their parents relax. It is only available at the weekend, on long weekends and school holidays. The spa remains open all year round.

Balneario Puente Viesgo (Cantabria)

The imposing Gran Hotel Balneario Puente Viesgo building is located in the heart of the Toranzo Valley right by the River Pas, just 27 km from Santander, and it’s a perfect choice for families. With a thermal complex in an extensive natural setting, the Gran Hotel Balneario de Puente Viesgo also has a Water Temple, with a dynamic pool, thermal baths, saunas, and contrast baths that can be enjoyed by anyone aged 8 or over. For the under 12s there’s a children’s pool and a games room where the kids can have fun while their parents enjoy the usual spa treatments, plus some of the more unusual ones such as halotherapy or parafango. Open all year round.

Balneario de Lanjarón (Granada)

This spa resort is located in a truly magnificent setting, between the Sierra Nevada National Park and the mountains of the Alpujarra. It has become a point of reference thanks to the purity of its six mineral water springs which have medicinal properties, and the quality of the thermal treatments it offers. A wide range of treatments and leisure options are available, which means that there’s something for everyone. There’s even a ‘Water Games’ programme for the smallest members of the family, with bubble baths, circular showers, and more relaxing activities to spoil them a bit - they need some pampering too! Open from February to January.

Balneario Paracuellos de Jiloca (Zaragoza)

Located next to the river of the same name as the spa, this place has spectacular gardens and large areas to walk and enjoy with the family (ideal for children between 4 and 12). It is the largest sulfur water spa in Aragon. This spa has a children's pool, a playground and a playroom. Open from 1 February to 10 December.

Balneario los Baños de la Concepción (Albacete)

Next to the Cabriel River and surrounded by extensive pine woods and fountains, you’ll find this spa resort with over 300 years of history. An oasis of peace and tranquillity, but also great for a family holiday. The three bicarbonate and sulphur rich waters of the three springs maintain a constant temperature of 20º throughout the year. While the adults are relaxing in the jet pool, the Turkish bath, or the salt cave, the smaller members of the family will have a great time in the indoor thermal pool with its swing area, bouncy castle, and trampolines. And there are lots of other outdoor family activities on offer such as hiking, fishing, and rafting. Open from February to December.

Balneario Hervideros de Cofrentes (Valencia)

A place for enjoying nature and relaxing with the family. Tucked into the Ayora Valley and very close to Albacete, Cuenca, Alicante, and Murcia, this is how the Hervideros de Cofrentes Spa Resort describes itself. As the amenities are scattered over a wide area, it makes you feel as if you were in a little village that’s quiet and peaceful as well as revitalising and refreshing. The Hervideros Spa Resort owes its name to the fact that it sits on an extinct volcano with a magma chamber that generates the mass of carbon dioxide bubbles you’ll find in the waters of one of its four springs. Children from the age of 4 upwards can use the thermal circuit (the spa has a special offer for families) and there are lots of adventure activities to do in the surrounding area, such as bicycling and canoeing. Open from February to December. For more information check out the official Balnearios de España website.
