Museum of Fine Arts
The Castellón Fine Arts Museum surrounds a landscaped cloister with magnificent cypresses, once part of the old Serra Espadá school.
Exhibits are organised by theme. The Archaeological section includes mostly items found within the province, dating from the Palaeolithic period to the Middle Ages. The Ceramic collection is the most important one in this museum and contains more than one thousand objects, most from the factories in Onda, Ribesalbes and Alcora, as well as some from Manises and Teruel, among others. In the Painting section, there are canvases by Ribera, Ribalta, Romero de Torres, Rodrigo de Osona, Sorolla, Mongrell, Puig Roda and Porcar. Of special interest are the sculptures by Adsuara, Viciano, Gandarias, Benlliure and Vicent.
