    The Historic Gardens of Monasterio de Piedra

    This area is one of the loveliest that you can visit in Aragón. Here you'll find extraordinary geological features and the sound of water will keep you company throughout your visit. As you stroll through this natural space, you'll see how the river Piedra creates waterfalls, streams, pools and grottos, making it the perfect place to dream and enjoy scenery that you'll always remember. And you can also visit the 13th century Monasterio de Piedra, a wonderful example of Cistercian architecture.

    Los Monegros desert

    Very close to the city of Zaragoza, this unique unusual landscape is a true desert of more than 275,000 hectares that you can explore at your leisure. On foot, by car or by bike, here there are lots of places to visit, such as the fantastic rock formations of Los Torcales, sites of Spanish Civil War battles such as the trenches of Las Tres Huergas, or buildings like the Carthusian monastery of Nuestra Señora de las Fuentes, where you’ll find some wonderful mosaics.

    A route that’s perfect for the whole family, this is an easy walk and the path is well maintained, even on the stretches that run close to the river where you'll find footbridges and guardrails. The whole trail is inside Los Puertos Natural Park, crossing the Río Matarraña Nature Reserve. As you walk along by the water's edge, you'll discover the incredible rock formations that are the result of thousands of years of erosion which created ravines that reach a height of 60 metres. And nearby you'll find the cave paintings of La Fenellosa, which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998.

  • Sima de San Pedro

    Close to Oliete, this sinkhole is unique in Europe for its great geological value and its enormous size: it has a diameter of 80 metres and is 86 metres deep, plus 22 metres of water. This is also a space of high biodiversity, with its own ecosystem, home to 25 species of vertebrates, including colonies of bats. If you dare to peer over the edge, you'll see something so incredibly spectacular that it will be hard for you to forget.

  • Las Grutas de Cristal caves, Molinos, Teruel

    Here you'll discover a true natural wonder hidden beneath the earth, an intricate series of tunnels and caves full of stalactites and stalagmites that will sweep you off into another world. Inside you'll find huge chambers too, such as the Sala de los Cristales and the Sala Marina where you’ll be able to admire these peculiar, spectacularly illuminated rock formations. To round off your visit to the caves, you could visit the Museo de las Formaciones, a museum which will help you understand the different parts of these caves.
