A minaret bell tower.
In the remains of previous buildings built on the same site where the church stands, the passage of different cultures and peoples through Seville can be seen.
It has a rectangular floor plan and three naves. Its vaults are barrel and groin vaults. The cupola, the main altarpiece and the sacramental chapel are the highlights of the building. Inside, we find the sculptures of the Passion of the Christ, the work of Martínez Montañés, and the Christ of Love, by Juan de Mesa. Although construction on this church began in the 17th century, this site was previously home to a Roman temple, an early Christian basilica, a Visigoth basilica, a Mozarabic basilica and, in the 9th century, the main mosque of Seville, of which the Courtyard of the Ablutions and the minaret (now the bell tower) are still preserved.
