Tierra Rapaz nature theme park

A good way to learn more about birds of prey is the Tierra Rapaz park, near Calahorra (La Rioja), where they can even perch on your own hand.

Tierra Rapaz is an international benchmark and well known for its bird flight demonstrations, offering varied displays of both daytime birds of prey (eagles, hawks, vultures, white-tailed kites, Egyptian vultures, Egyptian vultures, caracaras, eagles, etc.) and night birds (owls, etc.). As an extra activity, visitors can let large eagles and owls perch on their arm, touch them and take pictures with them.  The visit also includes a tour of the Tierra Rapaz farm school; the new Oceania section, with species such as wallabies, turtles and emus; and the area dedicated to the African savannah, home to other animals in the park such as zebras, antelopes, meerkats, porcupines, ostriches, and more. Tierra Rapaz is also a shelter and care centre for birds that are considered incapable of living in freedom and that can be sponsored.
