“La leyenda de Tartessos” mountain bike race

Four days of pure UCI MTB in the spectacular setting of El Rompido, in Huelva.

This competition is part of the UCI (International Cycling Union) calendar, brings together cyclists from around twenty countries and varies each year, guaranteeing unique experiences.The race involves three road stages and a time trial. The route covers more than 200 kilometres with 3,500 metres of elevation gain, passing through mining landscapes, pine forests, marshes and spectacular beaches.  Although the event has recently focused on competing in pairs, riders can also take part individually, with categories for men and women. This exciting cycling challenge usually includes the region of Andévalo, with its extensive scrublands and remains of mining activity, the beaches of Cartaya on the coast of Huelva, the Sierra Abuela and Aljaraque.The aim is to become authentic “legends of Tartessos”, the name by which the Greeks knew what they believed to be the first civilisation of the West, which developed in this part of Spain.
