The 8th Centenary of Toledo Cathedral

The city of Toledo is celebrating a historic event: the 8th centenary of the start of the construction of its cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic art in Spain. To mark the occasion, the city is hosting a wide-ranging cultural programme that includes exhibitions, concerts, conferences, talks, processions and liturgical events.The year 2026 marks eight centuries since the beginning of the construction of Toledo Cathedral. To celebrate this event of exceptional public interest, a full calendar of events has been programmed for 2026 and part of 2027.One of the event’s major highlights is the "Primada" exhibition, which runs from 25 May and will feature 350 masterpieces spanning eight centuries. The musical programme will include organ battles and a series of concerts performed by prestigious national and international ensembles. The agenda will be completed with conferences and talks on art and religion, processions and other liturgical events. All within the framework of the Jubilee Year of Toledo Cathedral, which starts on 25 October.
