Trip to Lakes of Covadonga and Cangas and Lastres from Gijon

Discover the sanctuary, the Covadonga Lakes and Cangas de Onis from Gijon. On the way, you will travel along the Asturian coast stopping in Lastres with privileged views. To start this excursion, the bus will be waiting for you first thing in the morning to take you straight to the Covadonga Lakes, only stopping briefly in Cangas de Onís to go to the bathroom and stretch your legs. Here you will enjoy first-hand explanations by the expert guide about the park and the area. Afterwards, you will be able to discover it at your own pace for an hour at your leisure; a unique opportunity to connect with nature, see Lake Enol and Ercina, and enjoy this unique natural environment. Still with the gray, green and blue colors reflected in the pupils, we will head to the Sanctuary of Covadonga, located a little further down, but also nestled between mountains. The walking tour will give you the most interesting and curious details of this place of religious tradition, where the Basilica of the Virgin and the Cave of the Santina are located. After learning about its importance, the history of Pelayo and what this place meant, you will have free time to walk around the area. As you can see, although the excursion has a fixed itinerary, there is plenty of free time to discover the places visited.We will continue the route descending to Cangas de Onís, an essential town in eastern Asturias, where the guide will give you a brief explanation and you will have about two hours to eat, walk or rest. Now, get your camera ready because the Asturian coast will offer you its best panoramic views. On the way back, the bus will leave the usual route to go along the Cantabrian coast passing by the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega, offering you a dreamlike panoramic tour.As a culmination we will stop in Lastres for half an hour to get unique views from the viewpoint of San Roque. Lastres is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, so we could not miss it!
