Santa Pola Salt Flats
Santa Pola Salt Flats lie in Alicante province. Two areas are distinguished: that of salt production and the marshy area.
The flora and fauna of Las Salinas de Santa Pola Nature Reserve have adapted to the area's wetness and high salinity.In this respect, it is worth mentioning the large number of flamingos that gather in the area.

The reserve can be found along Alicante's coastline, whose towns possess a wealth of monuments and art. Alicante is situated a few kilometres away, and is one of the leading cities on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.Another nearby cultural enclave of great importance, is the town of Elche.
The flora is characterized by rushes and cladium mariscum. In terms of the fauna, the bird life is exceptional and includes the red-crested pochard.
