Sorolla Museum

Located in Sorolla’s home and studio, it includes many works of art.

This museum helps visitors understand the artistic development of Joaquín Sorolla. Visitors can explore the artist's different stylistic and thematic periods, including social commentary paintings, family portraits, traditional genre scenes, and self-portraits. The painter’s colourist phase is dominated by his impressionist landscapes. There are also collections of sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, old photographs, and an important archive of his private correspondence. The works of other artists such as Benlliure, Rodin and Bloy are also worth highlighting.On 15 October 2026, the museum’s extension will open to the public; this new space, designed by Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos, has a separate entrance on Calle Zurbano and includes exhibition halls and an auditorium. The house museum is temporarily closed for renovation, as restoration work and improvements to accessibility are still underway.
