The collection of camellias dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and can be considered Galicia’s finest, with at least five hundred different varieties. To see them in flower is a stunning sight, especially on Carrera de las Novias or Carrera Grande, avenues with up to 72 major examples. Other outstanding elements are the path with old olive trees, probably from the 16th century, unique in northern Spain, the waterfall and the avenue of box plants, a spectacular tunnel made up of huge shrubs of this species.
