Valencian artists

It occupies a prominent 17th century baroque building, the Colegio Seminario de San Pío V.

Its gallery is mainly home to works by Valencian artists, including Vicente López, Juan de Joanes, the Ribaltas, Pinazo and Joaquín Sorolla. There are also paintings by artists such as Andrea del Sarto, Van Dyck, Murillo, Velázquez and Goya. It is also home to an interesting exhibition of contemporary art as well as valuable archaeological remains, such as “The Lion of Bocairent” or the early Christian sarcophagus of San Vicente Mártir. The complete collection of Gothic paintings on wood is also worth noting given their high quality. The museum also boasts one of the most important Renaissance courtyards dating back to the 16th century: Ambassador Vich's Courtyard, which was rebuilt here in 2006.
