Journey to Joan Miró's roots in Mont-roig del Camp

Since 2013, this organisation has been promoting the farmhouse that was a place of inspiration, knowledge and reflection for one of the most influential multifaceted artists of the 20th century.

Together with the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona, a benchmark centre, and, Miró Mallorca Foundation, all three make up the so-called Miró Triangle. These are three essential landscapes that allow us to understand and delve deeper into his work: from his origins in the farmhouse of Mont-roig del Camp, Tarragona, to his retirement in the workshop he had always dreamed of working in, in the Balearic Islands.  A painter, sculptor, engraver and ceramist, Joan Miró reflected in his creations his deep respect for the earth and nature. Therefore, sustainability is present in all the activities scheduled in this space that is so closely linked to his roots. Visits with wine tasting sessions, dramatised tours and original escape rooms are just a few examples. The essence of this estate and its sentimental value for the author are portrayed in his painting La Masía (1921/1922), which is on display at the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
