Museum of Sacred Art of Frómista

Palencia

It features Flemish paintings, carvings, sculptures and goldsmithing. It also houses the so-called “miracle stole”, a long, narrow ornamental cloth that clerics wear hanging from their shoulders. This miracle is said to have occurred in Frómista in the year 1453, when a priest could not lift the communion wafer or sacred host from the paten to give it to an excommunicated Jew.
