La Lugareja Shrine

It is one of the masterpieces of the Spanish Mudejar Romanesque style. This church was part of an old convent of Cistercian nuns. It has a sanctuary with three apses and blind arches. The presbytery is in the central apse. A double dome rises up on pendentives, and is adorned with blind arches and windows. It was built in the manner of the domes of Salamanca and Toro. The church is unfinished.
