Church of Santa María de Ruesta

This parish church is thought to have been a foundation created by royal commission dating from the 10th and 11th centuries. It was initially located outside the walls, and was eventually absorbed into the urban fabric as the town developed. Located at the opposite end from the castle, it was completely rebuilt in the 16th century.
