Chao Sanmartín Fort
Grandas de Salime
Asturias
This settlement was known to be fortified as far back as the 4th century BC. It consists of group of circular cabins, or rectangular structures with rounded corners, open plan and with a thatched roof, protected by sturdy walls. Its inhabitants were farmers who prepared their food in pots made without potter’s wheels, and also manufactured iron and copper tools, as evidenced by the metal remains found on the site.
