National Auditorium of Music

One of Spain’s great concert halls, with programmes ranging from classical masterpieces to avant-garde symphonic and chamber music.

This centre is a leading institution for the promotion and performance of musical compositions. Opened in 1988, it was designed by the architect José María García de Paredes, who prioritised sound quality and followed the theoretical principles of architecture for music. The building features a walnut timber roof that spans the two main halls: the Symphony Hall, which seats over 2,300 people, and the Chamber Hall, which seats nearly 700. Throughout the year, the auditorium presents a programme ranging from major symphonic concerts to themed series, recitals and performances spanning various musical genres. Every season, it hosts the most prominent orchestras, conductors and soloists on the national and international scene. It is also home to the Spanish National Orchestra and National Choir of Spain, the Spanish National Youth Orchestra and the National Centre for the Promotion of Music.
