Sierra de Huétor Natural Park

This natural area is located in the centre of the province of Granada, 20 kilometres from its capital. It encompasses several mid-mountain ranges, some reaching nearly 2,000 metres in altitude, including the one that gives the park its name.
The park stands out for its botanical value and characteristic Mediterranean wildlife, including protected species such as the golden eagle and the wildcat. The area's fauna also includes reptiles, little owls and tawny owls, blackbirds, robins, chiffchaffs and partridges, among other species. In addition to the animal life, the botanical value of the Sierra de Huétor is indisputable – in addition to the presence of oaks, maples and holm oaks, numerous local and North African endemic species can be found.
