Prades is a town located on the Costa Daurada that dates back to ancient times. There are remains from the Neolithic era and Iberian ruins, although the town has Arab origins.

There are many very interesting monuments, such as the Gothic church of Santa María la Major, with a Renaissance façade; the medieval castle and walls, which could date back to the Islamic era; a spherical Renaissance fountain; the Plaça Major; the hermitage of the Mare de Déu de la Abellera; natural fountains; caves, and viewpoints, such as Baltasana, over 1,000 meters above sea level.
