Cabanes

Castellón-Castelló

Countryside, coastline and culture conform the heritage of this village in the province of Castellón.

Cabanes is 26 kilometres from Castellón de la Plana. It has a warm, pleasant Mediterranean climate all year round, and numerous points of interest such as the El Prat Nature Reserve. This narrow stretch of coastal marshland is the habitat for many species of flora and fauna, some of which are endemic to the area. Alongside this area is Ribera de Cabanes, an unspoilt, sandy beach stretching almost 7 kilometres. Other interesting spots are Les Palmes-Les Sants and Torre de la Sal Beach, in the heart of the Costa del Azahar coast, with clean waters and white sand. Cabanes has interesting cultural heritage. Special mention should be made of its 2nd-century Roman Arch and the ruins of Minavet Castle, set on a hilltop. The San Andrés Fair is held on 20 November. It is known as the Cabanes Agricultural Fair and is renowned in the region.
