Spanish Flamenco Guitar Festival in Mérida

The monumental city of Mérida has been hosting this flamenco festival every autumn since 2022, with the guitar as the main protagonist, although without neglecting dance, singing and the new trends in this art form, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Many renowned artists, including José Mercé, Farruquito, María del Monte, Kike Morente, Tomatito or Antonio Canales have performed at the festival, confirming Mérida's status as a benchmark for flamenco in Spain. The María Luisa Theatre is the venue for the shows that make up the programme. The festival also supports emerging talents, providing them with the opportunity to perform and make themselves known, as well as organising educational programmes and encouraging public engagement with flamenco culture.
