This international architecture festival offers the opportunity to visit and explore some of the most spectacular buildings in Madrid, which are not usually open to the public.
In total, there are more than 140 emblematic spaces such as the Zarzuela Hippodrome, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the White Towers, the Banco de España, the Madrid Stock Exchange or the Casa de la Villa, which visitors can enjoy, both with on-site guided tours and virtual tours, to discover the transforming power of architecture in the city. In addition, initiatives that promote more sustainable and inclusive urban planning projects are awarded with each year's City Awards. The festival is held over several days at the end of September and features other activities such as exhibitions, workshops, conferences and open-air routes, all of which are free of charge. Since 2015, Open House Madrid has been part of the international network Open House Worldwide, a cultural initiative in which more than 40 cities around the world participate.
