Infinite Dalí

Madrid

The centrally located Gaviria Palace in Madrid reopens its doors to the public to host this permanent exhibition dedicated to Salvador Dalí's sculptural work created from 1973 onwards.

The visit is a good opportunity to learn about one of the lesser-known facets of the original Catalan artist. The exhibition brings together 14 sculptures from the Clot collection, which incorporate references to literature, religion, science and the history of art. These include Space Elephant, Nude Woman Climbing a Staircase and Christ of Saint John of the Cross. The works, which are distributed throughout various rooms of the 19th century palace, are the result of a stage in Dalí's career that was marked by experimentation and the maturity of his work, in which his creative expression evolved towards forms of greater technical precision combined with his particular surrealist freedom. The exhibition is completed with a selection of original drawings, which broaden the view of the artistic processes of the Catalan genius, and with the graphic series dedicated to Dante's The Divine Comedy, created between 1959 and 1960.
