Exhibition: Looking Through a Circle in a Circle of Looks

The exhibition at Artium, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country proposes a reflection on the way in which other cultures are viewed and represented by the West, through the moving image.

The exhibition brings together works by international artists who rethink the language of ethnographic film, questioning traditional points of view and opening the way to new forms of storytelling based on diversity.Inspired by documentary genre references such as Maya Deren and Trinh T. Minh-ha, it proposes a route through audiovisual creations in which feminism, decolonial thinking and new technologies converge. Together, it offers a profound reflection on the relationship between the observer and the observed.
