Exhibition: Cleopatra, the immersive exhibition

Return to ancient Egypt with this exhibition focusing on the figure of Cleopatra, one of the bravest, most powerful and charismatic women in history.

Through immersive projections, holograms and virtual reality, scenes from the Hellenistic era are recreated, reflecting the importance of the figure of this mythical pharaoh more than 2,000 years ago. Hall 16 of the cultural space Matadero Madrid is the venue for this exhibition divided into four areas:“Alexandria and the Daughter of the Nile” reveals how the legend of Cleopatra was forged from her childhood to her death; “Birth of a New Era” is a holographic room that allows visitors to experience firsthand the history from Alexander the Great to the Egyptian decline; “A Queen Forges Her Legacy” is a vast immersive space of 1,200 square meters, where 360-degree projections narrate Cleopatra’s ascent to the throne in 51 B.C. Lastly, “Crossing the Sands of Time” “ takes visitors on an adventure to travel through time, exploring the catacombs of Alexandria before venturing into the desert and arriving at the Siwa Oasis.
