The 28th edition of this great exhibition of sacred art of Castile and Leon will be held, this time, in Zamora, the 'city of Romanesque art', under the title 'EsperanZa'. Two of the city's main monuments house the collection of 85 outstanding works of religious iconography, which can be visited until April 2026.
The Cathedral of San Salvador and the Church of San Cipriano, just a 10-minute walk away, are the venues of this new edition of 'The Ages of Man' which, for the first time in its history, brings together two universal Spanish masters: Velázquez and Picasso. The exhibition will display an Inmaculada by the former, from the church of La Magdalena in Seville, and an Anunciación by the latter, from the Picasso Museum in Barcelona. The exhibition 'EsperanZa' is divided into the prelude, located in the Church of San Cipriano, and the installation Momentos, which is located in the cathedral. The visit guides you among pieces by artists such as El Greco, Francisco de Goya, Gregorio Fernández, Juan de Juni, Zurbarán, Berruguete and Salzillo, which dialogue with works by other contemporary artists such as Venancio Blanco and Pablo Gargallo.Visitors can also take part in a collaborative virtual reality experience, where they can see and help rebuild a settlement through a series of immersive scenes.
