Situated on the Cantabrian coast in northern Spain, it is an almost unspoilt stretch of sandy beach which is, nevertheless, fairly easy to reach from the neighbourhoods of El Brusco and Helgueras de Noja. It forms part of the Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Marshes Natural Park, one of the most unique landscapes in Cantabria. It is flanked by a system of dunes covered in lush native vegetation. It is a beach that opens out onto the sea, which is battered by strong waves and wind for much of the year. As a result, its occupancy rate is low, even during the high season. During this period, lifeguards are on duty.
