Come and enjoy 50 different routes sharing hobbies.We propose an exciting journey through the mountains and valleys of the Cantabria’s Mountains. We will begin our travel at 9.30 hours in Santander and we will go to Torrelavega by highway.There we will begin the way through a single path that will bring us to the most ancestral valleys of Cantabria. We will walk through ancient roads, almost forgotten, they will show us the culture and traditions of each area visited, from the Collegiate Church of Santa Cruz de Castañeda and Puente Viesgo, with prehistoric caves of Monte del Castillo, to the nomadic life of its inhabitants. We will walk along the route of the unfinished railway Santander-Mediterraneo and we will arrive at aqueduct of Santiurce de Toranzo, thence we will ascend to the mountain of Cotero de Lobos where we will see, from 800 meters high, the wonderful landscape of Valle de Toranzo and Luena, near the Puerto del Escudo. Between strong contrasts of nature, we will go into a lush forest of varied vegetation, with oak trees and pine, that form an example of soft Mediterranean climate. We will start the descend winding between farm cottages and narrow roads, where numerous herds of cattle will be grazing.They provide the basic elements for the preparation and production of typical products of the Valle del Pas: “sobaos and quesadas”.We will finish the tour with one of those experiencies that should be tested at least once in life: deep into the heart of the “Tunel de la Engaña”, the longest tunnel in Spain, with 6975 meters in length.
