Enological visit

Gratias is a family and artisan winery, whose project is the recovery of indigenous varieties such as bobal and pintaillo (ink) and tardna (white), in danger of extinction.We are located in the Ribera del Cabriel (Manchuela), which has recently been declared a Biosphere Reserve. It is the area that connects the Valencian Community with Castilla la Mancha. It has a very Mediterranean character, since pine, rosemary and thyme predominate in the landscape.We work 10 ha in the field. 5 are owned, and another 5 are leased. On some occasions, we also buy grapes from other farmers. We work with them throughout the year and we take care that the grain is small and loose.All the fields are in 10 km around, with a difference of approximately 400m. The staggered harvest in soils with different nuances, will make a difference in the grape, which together with the production process, will allow us to have wines of the same variety but very different on the palate.In this experience we will tell you all our history. Where we come from and where we are going, our Gratias philosophy, the process of making our wines and their general characteristics.While we chat we will taste 4 of our wines, accompanied with gourmet tapas.- Rose (100% bobal, light red wine). Accompanied by some Ibañesas olives from the area.- Got (100% bobal, vat-bred red). It is accompanied with a tapa-toast with EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Picual variety) from Haza del Fresno (family and artisan business).- Maximas (bobal 100% red aged in barrels). Accompanied with a delicious goat or sheep cheese artisan from Quesería Cerrón (family and artisan business in the area).- Sol (100% tardna, 1/3 of the wine passes through a clay jar). It is accompanied by a cover-toast of oven bread from the area with an anchovy from Conservas La Machina de Santoña (family and artisan business)Children free.
