Natural pools of El Caletón

The 1706 volcanic eruption, which buried the old port forever, formed the arm of the sea known as El Caletón in a capricious way. Its "charcos" (Las Viejas, Los Niños, Los Chorros, etc.) create a set of natural pools, with acceptable conditions for bathing and an excellent promenade.

Beach: Pixavaques

Well equipped and with access from L'Alguer Beach. There are lots of restaurants on the promenade, as well as benches to sit and rest on.

Beach: Pla de Montgat

Montgat Beach comprises a vast sandy ground that stretches from El Masnou. It is very well equipped, with a lifeguard service, a bar and terrace, showers, litter bins and a car park.

Beach: Pla de l'Os

This is a continuation of Bellamar Beach. Access is to this big stretch of sandy ground is via well signposted underground passages.

Small, quiet sandy beach situated between sheer rock walls. This is the continuation of the line of beaches in Palafrugell.

Beach: Platgetes de Bellver

This welcoming cove in a peaceful residential area (Bellver urbanisation), with a fine sand Blue Flag beach, is protected by breakwaters and kept in excellent condition.

Beach: Platja de l'Astillero

It is located in an area with hotels and a wide range of leisure activities for the months of July and August. It runs practically from Santa Susanna to La Riera de Sant Genís de Palafolls.
