Miño de Medinaceli
Soria
This is one of Europe's most important early Palaeolithic archaeological sites. The findings include the bone remains of large prehistoric mammals, extinct species and fossils; and a particular highlight is the skeleton of a type of elephant, 'elephans antiqus', from 300,000 years ago. There is also a collection of hand-made utensils such as knives, and a variety of objects made from bone and wood.
