Shrine of San Baudelio de Berlanga
Caltojar
It was built in the 11th century on an old mosque. Its frescos, some of which have recently been restored, are in a range of different styles (Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance), and do not feature religious subjects. The exterior of the shrine is in simple masonry work. Access to the interior is through a double horseshoe arch. The nave has two rectangular sections, with a wide column supporting eight radial horseshoe arches (in the shape of a palm tree) in the centre. At the base of these arches there is a skylight with a small vault with six ribs crossed in sets of two. The choir is reached by a stairway set in the wall. At the back there is a cave.
