Church of San Salvador (Tirgo)

Tirgo

La Rioja

The Romanesque shrine was built in the 12th century. On the outside, the belfry, bell tower, gabled roof and semi-circular apse decorated with corbels and arches are the most impressive features. This church has one nave, divided into four parts. The nave has a pointed barrel vault roof, reinforced with transverse arches. The exterior of the apse has embedded columns and blind arcades decorated with mini columns and archivolts with narrative reliefs. Inside the church, the main Baroque altarpiece created by Lorenzo de Rivas is particularly noteworthy.
