Montuïri
It is located in Mallorca and is the only one in the Balearic Islands dedicated to the Son Fornés site. The museum has become a cultural reference thanks to an extensive program of cultural activities, such as cinema, theater, concerts and photography.
Son Fornés archaeological museum, located in Molí des Fraret, an old flour mill that dates back to the seventeenth century, is the only one in the Balearic Islands dedicated to one of its most emblematic Talayotic sites. This is the Son Fornés site, a settlement inhabited from the 10th century BC to medieval times, and in which two impressive talayots (prehistoric megalithic monuments of the Balearic Islands similar to a low tower), many rooms and remains of a section of a wall are preserved. It offers a permanent programme of educational activities and open days, in which visitors can learn about how island communities changed throughout the first millennium before our times. In addition, it has become a center that hosts various gastronomic and cultural activities throughout the year.
