A great green lung of the metropolitan area of Barcelona


This large natural space is the largest green area you can visit in the area around Barcelona. Collserola's highest peak is the famous Tibidabo, measuring 512 metres in height. Of the nine towns located within the boundaries of the natural park, Sant Cugat del Vallés boasts the largest surface area, accounting for 44% of the park's area.

Collserola offers numerous options for enjoying nature: trails, cycling and horse riding routes and places for beginners at caving and rock climbing, such as Les Escletxes del Papiol. Taking a walk allows visitors to discover emblematic spaces such as the Torre Negra, the Pi d'en Xandri, the Sant Medir hermitage or the Can Borrell reservoir.

  • Cultural information

    The park has a valuable architectural heritage such as the Iberian settlement of Ca n'Oliver (Cerdanyola del Vallès), the Gothic castles of Castellciuró and Papiol, manors such as Torre del Bisbe or Can Catà and numerous hermitages and churches, including Santa Maria de Vallvidrera and Santa Maria de les Feixes.

  • Environmental information

    Mixed forests of white pine and holm oak, scrubland and more than 1,000 types of plants typical of the Mediterranean climate predominate. There are 190 species of fauna, including squirrels, foxes, wild boar and a multitude of birds.

    There are a multitude of signposted paths, leisure areas, viewpoints and popular fountains, such as the Budellera fountain.
