In the south of the island of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, you find the Arteara necropolis, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument.

The Arteara necropolis is an important archaeological complex located in the Barranco de Fataga, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, in the south of the island of Gran Canaria.It is a large pre-Hispanic cemetery that houses around 2,000 tumulus tombs, raised with basalt stones, dating from about 2,000 years ago. Declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, the funerary complex is presided over by a larger central burial mound, believed to be the king's tomb.
