Exhibition: Solange Pessoa: Day or Night

This iconic cultural venue in Santander is hosting the first exhibition in Spain dedicated to the Brazilian artist, featuring works from different periods of her career and two installations created specifically for this venue.The exhibition explores his creative concept, in which the human and the animal, light and darkness, the physical and the transcendent coexist. Pessoa works with sculpture, painting, video, drawing and multimedia installations, producing work that is closely linked to nature and the landscape of Minas Gerais, the region of Brazil where he lives and works.Through organic and mineral materials, she explores themes such as memory, the body, spirituality and the cycles of life, combining references to Brazilian modernism and colonial Baroque with influences from land art, arte povera, Surrealism and prehistoric symbolism.
