Schubertiade

Every year, in the town of Vilabertran in the province of Girona, the Schubertiada is held as part of the Empordà International Music Festival.

Since its first edition in 1993, this event has centred on the musical works of Franz Schubert and other composers of the German Romantic period. A variety of artists, both national and international, come together on the three stages where the various concerts in this classical music series take place.These are the canonical church of Santa María, regarded as one of the best-preserved medieval religious buildings in Catalonia; the Misteri venue, an underground space next to the Vilajuïga spring; and the small 10th-century church of Sant Pere de Pals.
