Every year, the Las Palmas Opera Festival offers the opportunity to enjoy the great operatic works on the island of Gran Canaria, where the famous Spanish tenor Alfredo Kraus was born.
The Pérez Galdós Theatre hosts the season of this musical event, promoted since 1967 by the association Amigos Canarios de la Ópera (ACO), in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The programme is made up of various operatic premieres and other pieces of great quality, with the attendance of leading national and international music figures. There are also other complementary activities for different audiences, such as conferences, film series and school concerts.
