The Ibiza International Music Festival and the Ibiza International Piano Competition have been held every two years since 1987, organised by the Centre Cultural de Sant Carles.

Both international competitions take place in August in the bucolic village of Sant Carles de Peralta, among centenary olive trees, almond and carob trees, and are held in the Parish Centre and the Church of Sant Carles. It is an unmissable event for classical music lovers, featuring concerts of piano, organ, singing, chamber music and small orchestras. Admission to the concerts is approximately €5 (query prices on the official website) and free for minors. The Piano Competition has two categories: youth (up to 17 years old) and adult (up to 30 years old) and distributes more than €30,000 in prizes and the recording of an album. Admission to all competition sessions, the final gala and the winners' concert is free of charge.The Festival and Competition have received the Gold Medal of the island of Ibiza (awarded by the Consell de Ibiza, 2026), the Balearic Islands Tourism Award for Tourist Experience (Government of the Balearic Islands, 2019), the Citizen Merit Award of the island of Ibiza (Consell de Ibiza, 2017), the Ramon Llull Award, given to Don Jaime Ferrer Marí, founder of the competitions (Government of the Balearic Islands, 2016), among other distinctions.
