Moors and Christians Festival, Bocairent

Processions and lots of fun are the hallmark of these distinctive celebrations.

The first week of February, Bocairent, in Valencia, celebrates its festival of Moors and Christians in honour of its patron saint, San Blas. It is one of the oldest Moors and Christians festivals celebrated in Spain. Fireworks, pasodobles and comparsas music, impressive parades, processions and the thundering sound of gunpowder characterise this colourful and vibrant celebration that runs for six days. On l'Entrà Day, you can admire a spectacular parade of floats with more than 2,000 people taking part.
