Exhibition - Modern art
Valencia-València

The IVAM in Valencia is hosting, after its run at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, this major retrospective dedicated to the artist Soledad Sevilla, one of the main Spanish representatives of geometric abstraction.

The exhibition brings together a selection of more than a hundred works, some of which were made specifically for the exhibition. A chronological journey through nearly six decades of her artistic career, connecting her early geometric creations from the late 60s with her most recent series, such as the series that pays tribute to Eusebio Sempere, one of her main influences. The six rooms exhibiting the retrospective at the IVAM will allow visitors to discover the distinctive language of this painter, based on lines, colours, and the construction of shapes, based on geometric modules, in which patterns and light become the essence to express emotions.
