This is the place where the oldest processions in Spain are held, dating back to the 15th century.
Easter week in the town of Medina del Campo, in the province of Valladolid , is famous for its history and tradition, as well as for its rich heritage. Dating back to the 15th century and therefore the oldest in Spain, this event is known for its silent processions and the devotion of the participants. Today, some 3,000 religious associations accompany the floats through the streets of the town, and the occasion is a chance to see some of the most outstanding sculptural ensembles in the processional imagery of the Spanish Renaissance.
