The Museo del Prado hosts this monographic exhibition comprising some 150 works by the Central European neoclassical painter, considered one of the most important of his time. The pieces, which make up the largest retrospective that the Madrid art gallery has ever devoted to him, come mainly from the institution itself and from Patrimonio Nacional, but also from international loans. The exhibition on this famous artist, who spent part of his career in Spain, includes paintings and drawings, such as watercolours, oils, pastels and the fresco Jupiter and Ganymede, as well as sculptures, medals and manuscripts.
